Role purpose:
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our charity’s mission by creating evidence-based advice and guidance content that is engaging, accessible and meets the needs of autistic people, their families and the wider public.
The National Autistic Society is the UK’s leading autism charity and a trusted provider of autism information and support. As our new Writer/Editor (Autism Information), you will be part of our charity’s mission to:

As Writer/Editor (Autism Information), you will write and edit evidence-based content about autism for external and internal audiences. Your work will be part of our advice and guidance content process.
You will focus mainly on writing our public-facing advice and guidance web pages, creating practical resources (e.g. Autistic sensory experiences) and collaborating with other teams to produce video and social media content (e.g. by writing questions and conducting interviews, editing video scripts, drafting text for social media assets, etc).
You will also review and edit content that includes autism information produced by other internal teams to ensure consistency with our evidence base. This may include content for campaigns, press, marketing and special projects.
We are recruiting 2 roles with the same job title:
- 1 x full-time, permanent role, and
- 1 x full-time 18-month fixed-term contract.
Flexible working patterns will be considered.
