About the Team
The HR Shared Services team provides high‑quality, consistent HR advice and operational support to managers and employees across the organisation. The team supports the full employee lifecycle, ensures compliance with employment legislation, and delivers excellent customer service. The team works closely with HR Business Partners, safeguarding, and compliance colleagues to support our charity’s regulated and safeguarding‑focused environments.

About the Role
As an HR Advisor, you will provide practical, business‑focused HR advice and case management support to managers across the organisation. You’ll manage complex employee relations cases, support organisational change, and ensure HR processes are delivered efficiently and consistently within agreed service levels. You will have line management responsibility for a small team of HR Coordinators/Administrators, contributing to the development of a high‑performing shared‑services function that reduces risk and builds manager capability.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide advice and support on range of HR matters including absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance management, pay, compliance and flexible working
  • Manage complex and high‑risk employee relations cases through to resolution, including dismissal outcomes where appropriate
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers, offering clear, practical guidance aligned to employment law, policies and best practice
  • Support organisational change activity such as restructures, consultations and redundancy processes


What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience in a generalist HR role supporting the full employee lifecycle
  • Strong experience managing complex, high-stakes employee relations casework end‑to‑end
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience working within an HR shared‑service environment 
  • Experience of line managing a team
  • Experience advising on change activity, such as redundancy / TUPE
  • An understanding of compliance and safeguarding within Adult Social Care.

This role is for a full-time position at 35 hours per week.

This role is homebased.
